Bluetooth Phonebook
Has anyone successfully uploaded a phone book to their car? I've tried my Blackberry 7290 and my iPaq 6515 with no luck. The bluetooth works great on both, but I can't upload my phone book. Manual entry is tedious and really s*cks. Has anyone had any luck?... and if so, what kind of phone? Thanks......

My volume is good and the audio is crystal clear. Other than the very slight (and I mean very slight) echo to the listener on the other end of the call, acssociated with a large space, most people don't know I'm on the car radio.

there are only select bluetooth phonebooks that will successfully transmit to the new Lexus Nav systems and the BB 7290 isn't one I think all nokias, some samsung / sony / and motorola are the only ones that work.
i feel ur pain. i have 400+ entries in my BB 7290 and i would have to manually enter each one. ;(

My son has a Sony phone. Maybe I'll borrow it, wipe it, load my data with a sync, load the car, wipe it and return it. Maintaining the numbers wouldn't be too bad, but loading 450+ numbers and names by hand is out of reach.

I have a IS350 and Ipaq 6315...
I have successfully uploaded my phonebook of about 350 contacts. The only problem I had was the format the numbers in 1(123)456-7890 I had to change them on my Ipaq to look like 1-123-456-7890 then it worked fine.

Very interesting. Mine are in the default Outlook format of (xxx) xxx-xxx because I sync with my notebook. The transfer starts and looks like it finishes and then the car screen displays "Transfer Failed". I'll try changing the format. It would be GREAT if I can get the 6515 to load the phonebook. I sync both my Blackberry and my iPaq with my notebook, so as long as one or the other will load the car, I'd be jamming. I'll try it today and report back.
Great input, Thanks!
