IS250 AWD ran 0-60 in 7.4s in Road & Track's comparo
Considering the offical 0-60 time is 8.3s, R&T did a great job on this one, even though the IS250 AWD is still by far the slowest car of the AWD test cars.

People chose 250 for their own reasons .. ie (manual transmission, awd, budget).. while others just don't need 306 hp. Personally, I would much rather get the 350, however, weather conditions in Canada have made my decision to try out an awd system.
The car is pretty slow.. but it's not "omg I'm gonna die of boredom" kind of slow. I guess the handling, features, comfort make up for it. Different strokes for different folks.

thats not a horrible time. For the average American, its perfect. Probably just 5 years ago this speed was the norm for all entry level Luxo cars.

Haha, guys, the reason I started this thread with a thumb up is not to say that the IS250 AWD is a fast car or anything, but just that I'm pleasantly surprised that the car is not nearly as slow as Lexus claims, at least not when under the control of a capable driver. A 0.9s discrepancy between R&T's result and the official figure is a big one, thus worth making a thread. Now I wonder if the mad man at C&D could do even better. Hopefully a comparo of AWD compact sport sedans from them is coming soon too.

I chose IS250 AWD NAV because I don't want to pay more for insurance because two of my other cars are faster than the IS350. Sometimes speed isn't everything.
Let's be realistic here, 90% of everyone that has the 250 would of chose the 350
if it were the same price..

R&T got some fast *** times in this comparo. For example, the G35x AWD auto got 5.9s, and I don't think that even the lighter G35 RWD auto was ever tested as fast.
7.4s for the 250 AWD isn't bad at all.
