Mercedes-Benz's answer to IS350

Lexus Champion
Again, I have to ask why the German manufacturers always make their cars with single side exhaust outputs. I love the butt on the 350 majorly because the way the dual exhaust makes it complete.
+1 to all the reliability and resale statements. Also, the back of this one looks like the CLS, and I can't stand the rear on the CLS. Looks like it got smushed down, or they forgot to finish it.

I do not think it will do so hot.
In 2003, I purchased an 03' C230K (Coupe) - BIG MISTAKE!! That car, what was later referred to by my Lexus salesperson as a s**tbox was so negative, that I wish I had bought a Hyundai.
The only nice thing I could say about it was that I could count on the free service and the free MB loaner - got to drive every MB except the S class. Damn thing had so many problems (rattling sunroof, MAS going out twice, brake line failure at 22K, throttle position sensor replaced at 12K.

Rear tail lights (on the top pic) are shaped very similar to the Honda Civic 4 dour sedans (previous generation 2002-2005). No way would I pay all that money for a Mercedes that looks like a honda civic...

MB reliability
When I was shoppping for a car I went to MB and asked about the C Sports Sedan and they didn't have any to drive. It looked pretty cool on paper but I need to get behind the wheel before I talked about any money. While we were killing time checking on delivery I asked the salesperson about the reliability issues; his response was "we aren't trying for the top spot, we leave that for Lexus. We are a pioneer so there will always be some issues". I found it hard to stifle a laugh. With that kind of attitude, no wonder they aren't doing so good.
I got the latest consumer reports last week, guess who was at the TOP of the reliability list: LEXUS.
I also just got my 5K service, guess what we talked about . . . How to turn off the traction control totally.
Guess what I talked about at my BMW first service . . . . When will they fix the rough idle problem and why does my glove compartment rattle.
my 2 cents,
Bradman

I do think the new MB looks pretty sharp. And the headlights have a certain familiarity. Fifteen or so years ago, who would have thought we would see the day when MB started copying Lexus styling.

Looks good.. back remindes me of the new civic... At the right price i would buy it... I recently took back a deposit on a clk350 loaded 56 car was goign to be paying 525 a month i cannot get a car as outdated as that one...

I knew it! Costs less to produce than an identically equipped C320/C350 sedan! And MB puts an $8000 premium on them...
That car is the third biggest scam on the planet, behind DeBeers diamonds and the 911 Turbo (which Porsche sells for literally twice what it costs to produce).
Never could understand the appeal of premium priced coupes built on cheaper sedan platforms. You're always paying more for less.

i've picked up on something quite subtle tho on our cars...has anybody noticed (from the side mainly) that the 2IS tail lights look just like the corollas?? (from the side) What i mean is how the light curls over onto the side of the car. It hurts to think about but I'm reminded of it everytime i see a corolla so it's gotta count for some thing And damnit why did they have to make the toyota solara front end look so much like the IS?
