Thanks guys. This is something I've been wanting to to do for over 3 years, but never found a shop I trusted to open my headlights until recently. I'm pretty handy, but this kind of project for whatever reason scares me. I think it's the fear of melting my headlights and having to buy new ones that gets to me.

Hahaha... I think putting headlights into the oven and baking them would scare most people!

No DIY for me on this one either lol.

^^ the glue that is around the headlights are very soft and easy to melt. I used a heat gun and went round and round and the glue melted like better.

200F for 15 minutes in the oven won't hurt anything. You guys are wusses.

^^ did you remove all the wiring when you put it in the oven?

No. I kept all the looms and everything on. All I did was remove the bulbs, but that was because I was replacing the turns w/ LED's.

Paint was straight up flat black Krylon from Auto Zone. I didn't even prep the chrome surface. I just made sure not to touch it. Lay the paint down in thin coats. I probably did about 5 or 6 waiting about 15 minutes between each. Don't get greedy, just lay some base down, walk away, and come back.
