Smile Black Housing Headlights

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has blacked-out the housing of their headlights for their ISX50.. please provide pictures if you have. The reason for this is 'cause I wanna retrofit my headlights with TSX projectors and in the process, I can paint the housing black..I'm just not sure whether it's gonna look nice or not. suggestions/pictures?

I've done this in the past with my 97 Accord and it turned out pretty nice with CF fabric as my "black housing" and E46 projector on the left headlight and TSX on the right... comparison, the TSX side is wayy sharper and covers more ground than the blurry E46 projector.

Yep, there was a whole thread dedicated to it:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...t-housing.html

Enjoy!

As for whether to do it or not, it just depends on personal preference. For me, I used to like it a lot. (Now I'm leaning towards color matching.)

I just got the car in June and already got in an accident last month ... its still in the shop till next week-ish. I haven't done any mods to it, but I did red-out my tail lights and red-out the top half of my reverse light.

Personally, I think Matte or even Gloss black headlight housing would look hideous on Dessert Sage Metallic..

However, I have had matte gun metal before and here's what it looked like.

I like how the C-Series AMG black housing looks compare to just C300/350.. The matte gun metal looks stock from the picture you posted. but I totally envy your car..esp with the vertex kit.

Ohh no, I'm not trying to blackout the headlight, I'm trying to blackout the bezel/shroud housing of the headlight.

I personaly like the blackish chrome of the factory headlights, as for the TSX projector retrofit I say go for it. I have this done to my integra and my g/f's rodeo and am not trying to get my hands on another set of tsx/TL projectors to do it to the Lexus.

Applying darkened or colored vinyl over headlights is illegal in most States. Painting the housing should not be, as it does not interfere with the headlights themselves. Not 100% on that though - some DMVs are stricter than others.
