Question IS250 - Sport Pedals

Has anyone successfully installed the "accelerator" sport pedal on the non-Sport IS250? I recently purchased the OEM sport pedals from Sewell Lexus and was able to install all but the accelerator pedal. I took the pedal to my local Lexus dealer and asked them to install it. They informed me that they would not be able to install it due to "safety concerns". They stated that when installed, it would decrease the clearance between the pedal and the sidewall (see the Lexus safet campaign on some IS250/IS350).

I think one guy paid $100 to have Lexus install it....I have a set but have yet to install....I waiting for Darrell at Sewell to get back to me with better instructions for removing the gas pedal. You have to remove a pin on the back of the gas pedal and re-insert it with the sport pedals....

I'm not sure if:
1. I can get the pin out
2. the same pin will work if re-installed
3. I can get the pin back in

email the parts department at Sewell...attn Darrell and let him know about your concerns.

What a bunch of *******s. Tell them to do it or else. The damn car came with them in different packages and they cant install factory parts. Just doesnt make sense.

Ohh i would probley would do it myself anyways. What does your problem seem to be. If a guy at the dealer can do it i sure you can too.
Ohh and im a auto mechanic and i can tell you from experiance we dont have special powers. Just look at it close. See how it works, and how it was put together in the first place and work backwards. If it went together it has to come apart. Work backards. This applys to everythig but a box of bolts and parts. Thats why at my work we hate to finish jobs that other people or shops have started but couldnt finish.LOL We have to flip coins on which one gets the box-o-bolts. And most of the time things are missing and you wont even know it until your almots done but something is just not right without a missing piece. Anyways just letting off steam, but good luck.

Thanks for the info. I too think that they are trying to blow smoke up my hole. The problem I have is taking out the cotter type pin that holds the pedal on the accelerator arm.
