Hey Goldglv, how do you like the sound quality of the XM? I'm using a Skyfi2 in my Integra with an Alpine/Infinity set up and it sounds kinda flat. I was reading on XM411 something about how the bandwidth size affects the sound quality, and with them adding stations, I guess is just stretching that bandwidth to the max.

I was thinking of getting the XM receiver for my IS too, but don't want to spend all that money if it's gonna sound like ***.

I just put in a pre-order for my Sirius from lexus-parts.com. They gave me a discount as part of the pre-order. I'll let you know when they say it will ship ... or when it shows up on my doorstep.

What kind of discount? Was that ontop of the club lexus 10% off discount? They dont have any date yet right?

I think the sound quality is pretty good. I really like the fact that you can set the treble/bass/etc. differently for FM and SAT. I had an '04 Acura TL before this with factory installed XM and I think the IS sounds a little better.

the people who did my last xm install, into a mercedes 300sl with an alpine, international radio in north hollywood, told me sirus is available now and xm isn't. ?? anyone in socal have theirs professionally installed? does it work with the steering column buttons?

Right now neither is a factory install. But the dealer carries the install kit (parts) for the Xm. Which means it can be dealer, port or self installed. Sirius parts(kit) is not out, so as of now no one can install it beacuse the parts are not avaible. This is for the factory plug and play system not an aftermarket setup. (some do have sirius installed by aftermarket parts)

So for the lexus Xm kit yes the steering wheel will browse threw the stations and change the volume of SAT.

Sorry I missed your date question. Unfortunately, no date yet, but already late and suposedly close. They took a credit card to secure the order and will not bill me until they ship. I'll let you know when it ships or shows up.

No prob. I have been waiting for it to come out. I heard it was over due buy like a month already, but im not really sure if that means it due anytime tho. Heard mixed things form so many people. And my local dealer is just saying no date which is open to months and months. I sure hope they hurry up. Keep us updated. I think ill just wait until i see a post saying SIRIUS is in and then place my order.
