Default After years of use, has anyone removed their clear bra?

I'm thinking of getting one, but I would like to know from people who have owned and removed their clear bra after years of use. I've seen it on new cars and it looks awesome...can't tell its there unless I really look for it.

1) After years of use, do you see rock chips that penetrated the clear film and damage the paint?
2) Is it difficult to remove?
3) Any discoloration to the front bumper paint versus the rest of the car after its removed? (think of farmers tan, but on cars )
4) Is it worth $500-600 or would you repaint the front end? (I assume repainting costs are similar)

On my old IS I had the 3M film AND had a rock penetrate thru to the paint. The unsightly blemish in the film was worse than the paint chip. At least I could have touched that up if the film wasn't there. I didn' bother with the film on my new IS.

I think that line on the hood from that stuff looks worse (on certain colors) than a touched up chip would look.....and I'm talking about when its applied new.

I agree but i heard if you spend an extra 30-50.00 they cover the whole hood and fenders so there is no line.

not unless you get it from mobile premier. man the pictures of the clear bras that they applied don't even show the line. ridiculous.

If there is no line then has to be one of 2 things. 1 the bra is so thin it doesnt show much or do as much protection, or 2 they cover the whole hood so you dont see the line. And even if you dont see the line right away. After dirt and wax and stuff gets built up in the line from the step where the clear bra meets the hood its going to show a line.

I just put a clear bra on my car 2 weeks ago. You can't really tell it's on there unless you really go up to it and look really close. The one I got uses an 8MM thick 3M film. The thing isn't really designed to stop really big rocks, so I'm not really worried about that. It was cheap enough (about $230 shipped) so if anything, it's a peace of mind thing for me.

Does anyone know if it can be removed easily after it looks worn out? For example, you want to sell the car, but you don't want to sell it with rock battered clear bra.

I think it's safe to assume NO ONE has ever reomoved them. They claim to be removable, but no proof as of yet.

I've helped a friend remove clear bra that has been on the car over 1.5 years. It just takes alot of patience to remove it slowly. Don't be fooled by those who don't know.
