It sounds like its banging on something, anyone else feel like the sound is different from most other cars when you close the trunk?

forgive me for stating the obvious but one has to ask. are you sure it's not the license plate bracket rattling? I had to install some pads on the underside of mine to keep my trunk from sounding like a hooptie.

Mine is doing this too. It was worse before until I notieced the carpet area around the hinge of the trunk got moved when I pulled something out and it was rubbing. I've put it back but still notice a "extra" clunk" right before the trunk actually closes.

i too am annoyed by that clanging sound. i have yet to get plates so i havent even touched that area, but i suppose it could be loose. whatever it is, it sounds cheap when you shut it.

My left exhaust tip rattles when I close the trunk hard.

There's a lil plastic cover that covers the space around the hing so it could look flush when the trunk is open. The cover is attached to a spring so everytime u open the trunk the cover will pop up and when u close the trunk it will get pushed down. I think that might be the noise we're all hearing.

i agree. i noticed that flap is spring loaded. never bothered me though.
