That's the same comparo that got me to stop by the Lexus dealer. And even though the 330i won the test, their description of glitches with ignition key switch and broken ABS controller on that car convinced me that trading my expensive-to-maintain Audi for a Bimmer would be like jumping from the frying pan to the fire.

It was a cold and rainy day, late November Sunday morning...

... Girlfriend and I started looking for a new car for her.
Hour later, found the new IS on the Lexus website.
Early afternoon arrived at Lexus of Seattle.
Later afternoon, *I* drove home in new 2006 IS 250 AWD.

Evening, trying to figure out how, when shopping for a new car for girlfiend, I ended up with the new car instead?

Don't worry, as you can tell from my sig, she ended up with one about a month later.

I was either going to buy a Passat or Audi A4 and then saw the 250 on the freeway.....never concidered the Lexus until that point.

Took a drive in both and about a month later ordered a 350.

Was seriously considering the Infinity G35 Coupe and was even making offers at diff. dealers. There loss my gain we were fighting over like a grand. Left them and what I see across from there dealership was a Lexus dealership went inside an ask about th IS 350 and test drove, loved the car but no deal was made because of there price. Went internet shopping and low and behold five days later and about a fifty mile trip each way saved me about two grand. O by the way after a had my IS 350 the Infinty dealership called and left me a voice mail about the price I was willing to pay, they wanted to match. I actually told him you snooze you losse. He ask what did I get I told him and he said nice car and good luck.

TV commercial. I haven't bought a car in 6 years because nothing had really "turned me on", but I saw the 2IS and thought: I'm gonna have to get me one!

Ah, finally someone who saw it on TV instead of the Internet! I saw the IS commercial once, although it was after I already got mine.
