Default Pricing on Special Order

Apparently, the only way I am going to get the Lexus I want (IS 250 RWD, automatic, premium and navigation, with standard 17-inch wheels/all-season tires) is to special order it?

I have already been offered $1500 off MSRP without any trouble on cars in stock (all had 18-inch wheels with summer tires).

Are there any "high volume" dealerships in the west (California, Nevada, Oregon) that will give you the same price on a special order that they will give you on a car in stock?

I am willing to wait the 4-6 months for the car. However, by that time the 2007s will be out. I don't need a 2007, I just want a good price on a 2006.

Do an internet request from all the dealers you want to through the Lexus site. Tell them exactly what you want and what you want to pay for it. Then let them come to you.

That's how I got my awesome deal.

Good luck!

Have you considered getting the exact car with what you want with 18's? With $1500 off, I think you would have enough to replace the tires with non-summer ones, or even with 17's+wheels. And if you can sell the 18's, even better. Just a thought. FWIW, the 17's didn't get good ratings on TireRack. It's more trouble, but less wait.

In what way did the 17s get a bad rating (can you point me to the link)? I can only find ratings on the tires which doesn't reflect size

The Bridgestone Potenza RE92 tires came with my car. I'm not qualified to make an opinion on the quality :P

According to TireRack, there are 4 different tire sets that the 250 RWD could come with.
