I basically removed the two washer nuts, bottom left, and top right. then I hammered out the pin using a punch tool, but putting it back was a bit hard. I used a bigger sized punch tool, and had my friend hold the end of it with the end of the pin and I started to hammer away. haha, his fingers was hurtin' for a while.

I'm confused, there are only 2 nuts that you removed to get the pedal off?

Yes, there was two methods, the one I used, and the other where you take apart the little black "box" that holds the springs to the pedals.

Of course I used the easier, yet a little harder to reach method and just took the whole unit out like AndyL did.

iorchii,

I bought it from a Ebay listing by Sewell Lexus. It's a 3-piece set deal (accelerator, brake pedals and the footrest/dead pedal) for US$99 + shipping.

Dealt with Darrel Diller and he was quick to ship.

ULTiMaX99,

You may try to see if Sewell Lexus has it. Remember to use the CL promotional code(CL911).

Dj Rando,

Yes, only two nuts. I was surprised to find it out when I worked on it. The nuts are located diagonally. The other two nuts are for holding the L shape plate to the carpet and hence they shouldn't be removed.

Pocky,

Can't disagree with you about putting back the pin back for the accelerator. I was pondering for a long time and was afraid to bent the pin. I am glad that the pin is actually hollow which actually forces itself in (provided that the pin is positioned properly)

andyl,

did you have to take apart the dash area in order to get to the two screws?

Hi islandsnow,

Yes, I actually took apart the lower piece of dash before taking those 2 screws out as I couldn't see them clearly. The lower piece of dash is the one right below the knee air bag. It can't be taken apart completely -------- it can only be taken apart and hang there as there is something holding it. See I rotated it 90 degree in the picture.

Hope it helps.

Hey AndyL,
If I remember correctly I ended up removing that lower piece completely by disconnecting the sensor and led connectors. I used a large adjustable pliars to slowly squeeze back in the roll pin so I did not have to hammer it.

I had that idea before but my pliers were not strong enough to squeeze the roll pin.

Yes, this seems to be the best way since you are less likely to damage the surrounding of the hole.

The last I heard they weren't selling the gas pedal anymore because of the difficult install. If you can get it, it will cost you a boat load. I'd be curious to see if you can find them. I'd love to put them on my car.
