Default Steel Wool Car Wash

So I got my car washed, and where there was a little sap, there is now a patch about 3"x2" that looks like it was scrubbed with steel wool. They are saying the clear coat burned through and trying to blame it on the dealership, but I am saying they are frickin idiots. I dont even really care. I just want to get it fixed. And I would post pictures but my digital camera is broken too. Terrible day for me.

What should I try to do? Take it to a detailer? A body shop? A dealership? I cant have a blemish like this on my new car!!!

Please help.

I'd try a reputable detail shop that can perform color sanding and possibly a small paint blend.
Was this a touchless car wash or did you specifically ask them to get the sap off?

It was the mobile detailers that come to our company. I just got the standard wash but my guess is they tried too hard at the sap.

File a claim aganst their bond if they don't want to repair it. Seems pretty obvious they scrubbed the hell out of it in order to get the sap off, and it scuffed the finish.

I don't think the clear coat burn thru. A good body shop will be able to buff it out for you.. It should cost no more than $60.

Yea. I took it in today. The guy says he is hopeful. He is just going to buff it out for free since I am also getting my windows tinted. I am still a little bit scared, but more hopeful...

you should be able to buff it out yourself just as easy. Just get some 3m fine cut polish or similar, watch Karate Kid, and then goto town. Should take all of 5 minutes.

That sucks a big hairy one. I would still complain big time to that car wash's management.
