Some of you guys are insane... those rates are enough to make me prefer walking.

My wife and I are with Nationwide. I'd have to dig out the paperwork to look at coverage, but last I recall shopping around, it's a good plan (250 or 500 deductibles, etc).

Two cars covered, neither of which are cheap, and we pay $920... per YEAR. For both cars. I don't expect that to go up substantially when the IS finally arrives.

Married, house, early 30's. No recent tickets.

Damn, my insurance is higher than everyone's. May it's cuz I don't have any multi-car discounts, under 25, and still have a ticket on my record...

Car: IS350
Age: 21
Location: CA
Rate: $2300/year
Company: AAA
Violations/Accidents: Speeding Ticket in 2004 (90 in a 65)

Extra info if you know:
Deductible: $500
Coverage levels: 100/300/100

Your rates are low prob because you're married. Insurance companies aren't suppose to discriminate based on sex, age, marital status, etc but they do. I'm willing to bet that if I was married, my rate would go down some.

Yours is high because youre 21. It's also based on where you live in CA. Rates vary by zipcode. Fair, right?

I'm sure it contributes some, but prior to getting married, my rates weren't much worse.

I think I should get to pay less for every accident I avoid from other crazy CA drivers. Penalize me for the bad, but don't reward me for the good.

That would be cool.

Then again, if you're 21 and can afford a brand new Lexus you can afford high insurance rates. Hell, if you're 50 and can afford a brand new Lexus you should be able to afford the insurance.

You've got to be kidding. Man, we are getting reamed on the east and west coasts. $47 a MONTH?! That's almost a tank of gas.

Default I couldn't believe it

when I called the insurance agent with the VIN & Make/Model and he said "you're gonna love this". It would be $56/month if I paid monthly, but paying every six months drops it to $280. I also have my homeowner policy with them, so imagine that factors into the lower auto rate.

So approx. $500/year for FULL coverage on your car WITH $250 or $500 deductibles?? That's quite a deal on car insurance you have there...

Yea but look at where he lives...KS. (no offense Solomoan). Where you live has a lot to do with your rate. I live in So Cal so the rates here are thru the roof.

No kidding!

it also depends greatly if you have full/limited tort (in some states, you can waive the right to sue); as well as coverage amounts. I keep 'em all high with low deductibles. No clue what I pay though...

Default Deductible

$500

My city and zip is one of the safest on the insurance tables in the country from a crime & accident standpoint.
