On the GS there are lights underneath the front seats that shine on the floor in back, and there are also small lights inside the door handle assembly on the door panel. They're small and subtle, but I think it's very classy looking at night, and very functional while not being intrusively bright. Does the IS have these as well? I can't find anything that says anything about that.

Well the IS has lights under the dash that lights up your feet at night. I've never really checked out the back seat, so I'm not too sure on that one. It also has a single LED by the moonroof controls that shines down on the shifter/center console area.

Cool, thanks. That LED by the moonroof is also very well placed, I seriously with my ES had it. I'm more specifically asking about the door handles and on black interior.

Also, I've seen a few threads on this with no responses, but has anyone cracked open one of the mirrors yet and replaced the puddle lamp bulb?

No, mine does not have lights on the interior door handles. Now maybe if you have the sport or luxury package, you get those things. I don't have either, so I can't really say.

Maybe someone else could chime in on that.

The 3GS's sequential lighting system is a lot nicer than the 2IS's ( IMO ) and has more LED's so the 2IS probably doesn't have what you're looking for.
