The same thing has been happening to me lately...Im going to take it to the dealer on Monday to see what they tell me. Just like BLKIS250TN said, it happens after a cold start up and only sometimes. Hopefully they have a fix for this by now.

And in 3 years they have sold another 150,000 IS250/350's and this defect finally happened again, wow.

I agree, search is useful for finding what you need. I hope Iceman's service visit on Monday goes well.

Send out an oil sample to Blackstone labs and get an actual measure of how much fuel is in the oil (UOA - Used oil analysis). You should do this with 5K miles on the oil. Not only will it tell you how much fuel is in the oil, it will also tell you how much more life is in the oil. This will verify how long you can go between changes.

i experienced a similar thing with my 09 is250, i had a check engine light come on and i currently live 3 hours from a dealership(soon to change). bt i called them and they said there was nothing they could do. so i took it to a shop my friend runs and it came up showing bank 1 running too rich. fix was change oil, and flash ecu to current software, got to dealership did oil change and they did not find any gas in my oil and it was on curr flash for the ecu. bt im still getting crap gas mileage. bout 30% loss in city and they told me there wasnt anything they could do for me, im so pissed off. i didnt spend 40000$ dollars on a car to have a piece of crap and have to worry bout it having problems..
and please dnt even get me started on the damn dash sqeeking and creaking i get so pissed and just have to punch the damn thing

This is really not making any sense, whatsoever. Gas mixed with oil? Oil mixed with gas? Oil in the fuel system clogging fuel injectors? The only way oil is going to get into the fuel system is by somebody putting it there (as in adding it to the fuel tank). It is virtually impossible for the fuel system to be contaminated with oil. The two are not connected in any way. I would try and get more details from the dealer.

Hope they get it all fixed for you. 30% loss in mileage seems to be pretty drastic. I would think there is something else wrong with it.

Actually this is a common issue with direct injection engines. If you do some digging, you'll see Audi and Volkswagen are both having the same problems with fuel contaminating the oil in their DI engines. I don't know why it's not a problem with the 2GR engines, but apparently the 4GRs had this problem early on. Maybe the mods to the fuel rails for the TSIB made the problem come back?

It's an interesting thought but I'm still trying to figure out in my mind how engine oil got into his fuel system. He did, in fact, say that the dealer told him that his fuel injectors were clogged with engine oil. That tells me that he's got oil in his fuel system, and, not just leaking past the injector seals. How on earth do you get oil into your fuel system? Again it's impossible as the two are connected in no way whatsoever. He should question that.

Oil is not getting in the fuel system, the DI injectors run close to 600psi fuel pressure. When the car shuts off the injectors are holding back 600psi. They leak by while the car is off. They flood the motor while the car is not in use. Earily RC injectors had the same problems when pressures greater then 75psi where in use on turbo cars a few years ago.
The correct fix would be a better fuel return system but that would be a complete redesign of the fuel system. So they will do a software "upgrade" to shed the extra pressure when the motor shuts off.

If you notive the 2GR doesn't have this issue. Just the 4GR, completely diff DI fuel systems.

the car seems to run just fine tho, it idles fine and accelerates fine under light acceleration and heavy acceleration, the only thing i can see that is wrong is sometimes when i come to a stop the car will idle a bit high (1000-1200rpm) it will do this when the car is warm, so its not an issue with the car just warming up.

Then that issue has nothing to do with gas in oil ^^^
