IS 350 Stalled this morning...
Strange thing happend the morning coming to work. As I was parking in the parking lot, I backed up then put the car in drive, and the car STALLED!
At first I didn't know what happened other than giving it gas and it would'nt go. Being that was car was so quite It took me a while to realize that the tach was at 0 and the check engine light was on
So I put the car in drive and started it back up. Weird... has this stalling problem ever happend to anyone before?

I wouldnt worry too much. Same thing happened to me while I was backing up. I guess I put it in drive too fast while I was still moving and so the car stalled. I make it a habit of coming to a complete stop before switching to drive.

It might be nothing, but to be on the safe side you might want to schedule a quick trip to the dealer.

I'm wondering if the Toyota Avalon is having this "fuel in oil" phenomenon. It has almost identical engines.
Does anyone know if this is just a IS isolated case?
There soon to be many toyota's/lexuses that will use the 3.5L engine.
I hope this problem doesnt get worse.

The Avalon, along with the new Camry, RX, and ES are using a different version of the engine I believe. No direct injection technology on those version of the engines.
If I remember the engine codes correct the 3.5L is the 3GR-FE for the regular versions and 3GR-FSE for the Direct Injection variants used by the IS.

I took mine ( is250) to the shop for 5k oil change and they found gas mixed in the oil. My car has stalled about 4-5 times. Every time it has been at he first start up. Well the tech called Lexus and said they are working on a cpu update to fix this. If I was you get it in the shop so they can see how wide spreed this is. It will help us all out in the end.

The new '07 Camry & ES uses the 2GR-FE, while the IS350 uses the 2GR-FSE.
The 3GR family engines belong on the Crown, Mark X and GS cars.

I have had the stall happen to me twice. Both times were in the morning after the car wasn't driven the previous day. I back out of the driveway and come to a stop. Then when I put it in drive , the idle drops low for a second then stalls. It was kind of embarasing and dangerous since there was a truck coming down the road that had to stop for me to restart.
I am going to have my 5k maintenence done within the next two or thre weeks. I am going to bring it up then. Hopefully some more information will be available by then.
Sorry to hear this is somewhat common.
By the way, I have a 250

Good God, is there ANYONE who HASN'T STALLED YET? All these posts about how everyone's had stalls are making me anxious and worried. Could stalling lead to further complications? I have yet to wait for my 250 to arrive.
