Default Do you turn off VDIM?

Just curious to see if people do this as often as they said they would.

VDIM Disable Info

People have commented on how they hate the electronic nannies, but does it really bother them with everyday driving? Weekend driving? Driving to the grocery store? Now that most people have driven their IS for a couple of months now, does VDIM really affect the feel of your everyday driving and handling?

I'm also curious to see if Lexus does provide an on/off switch for VDIM, would more people use it? Will it really make a difference?

Just random thoughts for the day...

I have turned vdim off for the ballroom dance routine in the empty parking lot...other than that, I havent found any other reason to turn it off. The only reason is if you are running from the cops or if you take it to the track. I still wish there was a button while driving! RECALL! jk

I turned mine off the first few times I got in the car after I first found out about the "cheat code" but don't do so anymore. I don't get crazy enough on the twisties to warrant turning it off. I actually like the electronic nannies, especially when the weather isn't so forgivng.

I turn it off when auto-x'ng. That is about it. No need to do so in regular driving, hardly noticeable.
I have turned off the traction control to do some nice black marks leaving work. That I do more often...once or twice a week.

Hehe no such thing as a VDIM OFF.

Although the proper term for this is TRAC/VSC OFF aka Dyno Mode is the correct term.

Edit: Remember this method was found out of a 2006 Toyota Avalon owners manual...describing how to disable TRAC/VSC. The Avalon to date does not have VDIM.

are we really starting that again..... It's just easier to say VDIM off but we all know it doesn't really trun that off.

It's a commonly misused term like the kind of keys Lexus uses. The incorrect term used constantly is "laser" cut...which in essence, the right term is a "milled" cut. Just doing my part to inform our members with the correct terms.

I disabled it once just to see if the cheat code worked. Other than that, it stays enabled.

Like what others have stated..why would u turn it off?

Other than the obvious, to dyno ur car or just to have some wheel spin, why would u do it?...does it really improve performance that much?

I doubt turning VDIM off will help you run from the cops! Short wave radios and helicopters are much faster than the IS
