Erratic auto wipers?
There's been LIGHT rain in the last two days and the IS's automatic wipers became activated. In my RX330 the wiper speed varies with the intensity of the rain. On the IS, the wipers are slow (due to the lightness of the rain), but every minute or so speed up for 5 or 6 cycles and then settle back to the slower speed (even though there was no heavy rain). Anyone else noticed this?

Have your windshield been replace with some aftermarket windshield? I had a lot of this type of complaint and the windshield itself or the installer mess up the installation of the sensor.

Mine does the same thing. I tried the fast and low setting. I also noticed that the automatic wipers does not come on until the windshield if full of rain. I have to activate the wipers manually most of the time. It is annoying to have the feature and not work properly. Can It be the sensor? Any feedback anyone?

We have not replaced my windshield. Like what 4U2eNv_8o8 is saying, I am also not worried if it's slow rain, It is concerning when the wipers does not activate until the windshield gets full of rain to a point that you cannot see well in front of you, and I have to turn on the wipers manually. I tried pressing the sensor next to the rear view mirror and the wipers gets activated but it does not stop after 4-5 cycle and then goes back to the same issue. I will address the issue on its first service and see what they will say.
