That's fine if you think financing is better than leasing. The reason they offer both choices is that different options appeal to different people.
When you buy a car, you are buying a depreciating asset. When you lease, you pay for only the value that you "use up" through depreciation during the term of the lease. When you buy, you pay for the whole thing. If you consider someone who leased for 3 years, they paid only for the value of the car they used up during that time. Someone who bought and then sold it after 3 years has paid for the entire value up front, but then gets back the depreciated value after 3 years. To me it sounds like pretty much the same thing.
If you are planning to keep the car for 5+ years, then I agree with you that buying is better. Personally, I'm hoping to be able to upgrade in 3 years.

On the other hand, there hasnt been a car that I lusted after (lost sleep even) until the IS. All my other cars I did not hold such passion for. That said, I dont know if I'm keeping it over 3 years. Anyway, I will know more when I sit down with the finance guy and find out what my numbers are.

On the other hand, if you finance with $1500 down over 60 months, and add in the sales tax, your payment will be $904.
Payments on a 250 will obviously be substantially lower.

Are you guys crazy I have the 350 with Lux PA and HW... MSRP=43,669. I up nothing down just taxes up front and my payments are $540 for 36 months. I don't know where or why someone would pay $700

That sounds reasonable. If I could get my payment at $400-450 I will lease it.

You also probably got a really good money factor on your lease.

Even with taxes in my payment its till would be in the high $500, but then again i did get 3,000 off the MSRP.

Let me see if I can resize it to post. I'll definitely have to try snowboarding one of these days! Sounds like fun!

As you can see from the pic below, there isn't much left, but that won't stop me from going to Killington this weekend!

Well, I don't remember ever getting higher than a "B" in college physics , so I can't explain either why skis are faster than boards other than obviously it's got something to do with surface area, edge control, and weight distribution
Happy boarding! Oh, just to get back "on" topic of the IS (or Lexus, anyway), what do you think of the "pass-thru"? Do you use it when you go skiing? Or do you drive an SUV? I don't use my IS for skiing (got an SUV), although I have used the pass-thru for a mop once. The GS comes with a pass-thru too, right?
