Waiting for model year clearance, will I be disappointed?
I really want an IS250. Im not a big money maker but really want one new. Do you think there will be and base IS250 available at the model year clearance. Im really homing I can get one for under $30k when clearance comes in Sept/Oct/. Will I be disappointed??? I really want a car payment in the mid 400's if I put $5k down.

The car might be cheaper by sept or oct but the they'll get you with higher rate.
It comes out the same.
5k down you would atleast be looking at $500- 540 a month

Maybe at December to Remember, get them near month end too. Should have good financing rates at December to Remember as well. But then again, they may exclude some models too. I guess it really depends on how well these continue to sell. Maybe it will drop off once the hype is over or when there is new rumors about IS coupe.convertible.IS 500???
Anyways, good luck in your search

Hi,
First i have to state that these price are in Canadian Dollars so you guys need to use an exchange of about 1.16. Anways, I went in to my dealership at the end of March (always the best time) and got a IS250 AWD w/ premium leather package and moonroof (leather, heated/vented seats, power seats, sunroof, etc). I only ended up paying $30 more a month than a IS250 RWD with just leather and i got the car in less than 24 hours. I dont know how it is in the US but i just gave multiple security deposits totalling about 5k (which i will get back at the end of the lease anyways), and i gave an additional 4k due at signing (with frieght, pdi etc. and the rest was the actual downpayment). My payments with taxes which are 15% here in Canada was $625 Canadian which works out to roughly $540 US. I remember i was able to get the base one with the same security deposit and same amount down for about $510 CAD which is about $435 US (plus 15% taxes). I think that people are right though when they say you should wait till the hype is done. I leased a mazda6 the first month it came out and the interest was something liek 8% which is extremely high for a mazda. They are now advertising them for 0.9-1.9% which makes a huge difference in the payment. One thing i must warn against is definately, whatever you do, do not get a demo. When i was test driving the demo car they also had which i did not buy, it had about 10 miles on it and already i as well as the salesman were completely raping th car.

One more thing i forgot to mention is that you shold really calculate your total cost of ownership. If you are on a tight budget, make sure that you have left room for the higher expense of premium gas, the higher costs of lexus parts and maintanance, higher insurance, etc. You do not want to find yourself in a position where you are reluctant to drive a car that you are paying for because you are worried about buring expensive gas or putting miles on it or anything like that. If i were you, i would just lease something like a 323 by BMW which is fairly inexpensive.

Great deals are out there.
Some guy got a brand new IS250 5MT, Premium package, 18 inch wheels all for $28,700. Thats just a few hundred dollars above invoice.
I am sure around sept when the '07s start rolling in you would be able to get a great deal. But that depends on your location as well.

I'm kind of in the same boat as the guy who started this thread. I want the IS 250 but I wont be able to get it till maybe November-December reasons being:
1) By then I should have about $8000 saved up to put down
2) I want to up my credit score first
3) And in August I'll be having my 1st child (doesnt make sense to buy a car when you gotta baby coming.
I'm hoping that by the end of year I'll be able to find an IS 250 RWD with the navigation system for about $31000-32000. What do you experienced Lexus owners think of the chances of me finding that??
I really dont think I want to spend more than $32000 and I rather have a used 06 with navigation than a brand new 07 without it.
Yea maybe I'm a lil backwards.
