Sorry if this is trivial, but I only discovered this yesterday. I was showing the auto sun shade to some one and forget and left it up. Later that day I drove my car and put the car in reverse and the shade went down. Once I put the car in drive the shade went back up again. I think this is kewl.

Yeah, that's what I was told! I tried it on a 6MT, shade didn't go down. LOL Not sure what happened.

When I found that out, I thought it was pretty cool and that it made a lot of sense. But then I realized that this is a lexus and I would expect nothing less.

The power sun shade will go up again only when your car reaches 10mph (km????) or so. If you put your car in reverse, then just move a little bit forward and shut your car off, it will not go up.

My bad. Here is what I mean. The sun shade will go down when the car is in reverse. after you finish backing up the car and put it back to DRIVE position, the auto sun shade will not go up automatically if you just move forward a little(in a speed less than 10mph). Just like doing a parking maneuver. You can check it out from the manual.

I laughed when they mentioned the sunshade at the dealership. I got the luxury pkge for other reasons.
Then I realized it has some advantages beside helping keep the car cool in the summer.
Specifically, when driving with the sunset to one's back, or when an idiot in an SUV tailgaites you with high beams on, just lift the shade!
