Best DVD-A/SACD to show off ML sound?
#16
Just got a DVD-A disk and I now know that the ML does not support DVD-Audio fully and the DD5.1 sounds much better. The DVD-A sound track shows 96khz ML Surround. It sounds great but it loses the surround effects on the rear channels. I hope future firmware upgrade will fix this. Its a shame to have a great sound system that will not allow one to experience it at its best for now the best format I could find is DTS. It's a pitty indeed. DVD-A still sounds great in stereo I could only hope that the system will support it fully one day.

Folks, this is NOT a DVD disc! It is a DVD-A with the "A" defined as "Audio". There is no video on this disc. DVD-A is a multi channel, high resolution audio format. The capacity of a standard CD won't hold all of that high resolution audio data so they have to use a DVD disc. Hence, DVD-A.
