(pics) **Updated 4/9 pg.2 Car got hit in parking lot, have no idea who did it
Hope this is the first and last time something like this happens.....does any one know if this could be buffed out?? Cause its not dented, just looks like it took some clear coat off and left behind some white paint.

Looks like you will need to repaint could you keep us updated on the cost just for future reference.

you can always still try to wet sand then buff it out............i ran over some kind of bucket or what so ever on the freeway not too long ago and my front bumper looked similar to that, took it to my friends shop, did a little wet sanding and buffing and it all came out

SInce you might have to repaint anyways, why not try some rubbing compound first followed by some polish and wax? You never know. Same thing happened to my Black Range Rover Sport 2 days after I took delivery of it... Like you, I was pretty freaked out, but amazingly, the rubbing compound worked like magic... good luck!

Ouch. I feel your pain. A couple months ago I had a similar experience while eating dinner. The damage was in almost the same location as yours.
Amazingly, my body shop contact was able to buff out 99% of the damage. But have you checked to see that there is not a dent or crease in the body? Although it wasn't readily apparent on my car, I had to get a dent removal specialist to also work on my car. But the results turned out great.

That sucks... It happened to us in the parking lot also... the guy was STILL parked next to us (fricken idiot).. i was pissed, filled out a report with security and was gonna report it to insurance. But the thing is, I was able to remove almost 99% of it. (there are some small scratches that I will fix later). If you have a big deductible (like ours) it may make sense for you to try and buff it out yourself (wash car, use McGuirres paint cleaner, wax, carnuba wax).. but make sure you keep the pics in case things don't turn out good (for insurance purposes).

I tried the touchup paint and wetsand thing on the hood to repair a rock chipped but screwed the the whole thing up, so I took it to the dealer to have it repainted. Just try it yourself, and if you screw up then take it in.
