Default Pics of my caliper project!

I finally got around to painting my calipers and putting on Lexus stickers that I bought from Flatline Graphix. It was really easy to do, it looks good, but it's not too ricey.

They look good, but I'm interested to see how they hold up after a rain, a wash, 1,000 miles.

Well it was caliper specific, high temp, extreme use paint. I think it will hold up just fine, but I'll post pics again in 1k miles just to see.

Is it a metallic-based sticker? One of the thicker, stiffer ones?

I really don't know. I do know he has sold a lot of these to other IS owners and the stickers are still looking good after more than a year. I was very pleased with the quality of the stickers.

Looks like a great job. I think Black on a stock caliper is one of a few ways to go; very classy. Definitely red looks too ricey or poser when you have stock brakes, but OK if the fronts are say Brembo or StopTech then matching the stock rears in red is OK to me.

As long as the calipers are cleaned regularly with wheel cleaner and a soft brush, they will hold up a long time. I usually just clean the calipers at the same time as my rims.

A coat of High Temp clear over the caliper and the sticker will ensure long long life. Those of us who have tried it and have been on the forums for 3 + years can attest to that.

One last note, the direction of your logo is opposite from the norm. All aftermarket and OEM caliper name/ logos I have ever seen have the sticker/name with the letter bottom closest to the wheel center. You can even see this on stock AMG, Corvette or Porsche calipers.

Your letters face away from the center in the opposite direction, sorry to say. If it looks OK to you great, but those of us used to seeing real BBK kits are sure to notice the anomoly right away.

yeah i was about to say that the logo is put in the wrong direction. well technically there is no right or wrong, but looking at all the aftermarket setup, it should be the other other way

regardless, nice job. definitely get some high temp clear and spray over it. i have them on my gs400 rear brakes (black paint + sticker + clear) for 4 yrs now, still going strong

you guys can go on not worrying while anyone with a clue about cars driving by will see A) u have a lexus logo on ur calipers, which doesn't happen, and then that you put it on wrong. at least make them thing damn that looks pretty good, are they doing that now?

get the point...the overall goal of modding should be customization to enhance stock profile. but thats my opinion, we'll unfortunantly see riced 2IS :-\

HA! I wasn't actually sure which way they went so I searched through some other threads and this was the way that they had theirs set up. I guess I can always change it around when these stickers are ready to be changed.

Thanks for the compliments!
