It was an allocation car for delivery sometime in April. I couldn't bear to wait out a special order especially when some say there really isn't a 'special order' process but rather they eventually find you a car that is close to your request.

I got lucky I guess. It arrived at port (Long Beach) on a Thursday and made to to Carlsbad Sunday. I wanted to drive there in the middle of the night to just look at it
But, waited till Monday evening after work. That was one of the fastest Mondays ever.

Is the wait so long because it is AWD?
I know here in Texas you can not find a 350. I am amazed at the CA and FL people that just go to the dealership and pick out one.
If I didn't have a trade I would just fly there and get one too!

The wait isn't as bad as it was. Since end of Feb I've been driving the dealers '04 RX 330 because i've had to wait so long. They gave me a loaner for 3+ weeks at no charge because the inspection stickers were up end of March on my tradein.
They already sold my tradein '03 Mitsubishi Spyder, so now I can't change my mind at signing. I don't care, I'm getting the IS if I have to sell my liver.
The RX is nice, but I want my IS !!!
