Default All clear bras are not created equal..

Ok this is just an assumption because, it's not like I have had the same little
rock try and penerate my clear bra (venture) and the (3M) clear bra
at the same time.. But, I noticed a rock went right through the clear bra and
left a chip, it's tiny, but its noticable from about 3-4 feet away... The flim 3M uses
seems to be much thicker than the venture film, and I advise whoever is getting
a clear bra, to always make sure they go with the thicker film.. (Cons to using the
thicker film, is it is harder for the installer to install.).

I have the 3M Auto Clear bra material on my car. The installer (aero tect) explained to me that venture clear bra has a more "mirrored" look but requires quite a bit more upkeep. The 3M auto material isnt quite as "mirrored" as the venture stuff, but it actually has a clear coat as part of the material. Meaning that it isnt necessary to wash the 3M stuff as much, but that it will look just as good when washed. But the Venture material, if left unwashed for long amounts of time will lose its luster and not look so good.

But I dont think there was a huge difference in how rock-repellant the materials were. Maybe the rock that hit you was just too sharp and/or large.

I wonder what kind of film lexus uses to coat that small piece under
our rear doors, that seems to be twice as thick as my clear bra, and i doubt that
would ever get penetrated...
