I have contacted many salesmen that the texas members on CL recommended me to and I am going to the dealership tommorow and probably will buy the 2IS. One complaint I have is that all Texas cars, unless special ordered, comes with wood trim and ventilated seats. I have heard and read posts that said that the wood trim gets scratched too easily! Is this true? Please, anyone with the luxury package or the wood trim, how is your trim holding up? Is there anyone willing to trade the standard trim with the wood trim? Thanks to everyone who recommended me to their salesperson.

I have the wood trim and so far no scratches yet. i got it just for the luxurious look and you'll just have to be careful about getting sharp items banging or dragging against it. as with any other finish, plastic or wood or metal, they will be scratched if you're not careful. i'm sure you'll love the wood trim as i do. go get your new baby and be among the happy 2IS owners!

I have the wood trim, which if I am not mistaken is not real wood. Either way I have taken the dash apart twice now and had no scratches, just as the others have said...be careful, but hey its a 30k - 40k car you want to be careful about everything

you can buy a bulk of clear bra, and apply it on the trim. It works nicely.
Ever since I put clear bra on my car, I like it so much that I apply clear bra on many things, like ipod, psp, etc.

Saint- I believe there is a thin layer of real wood from what I have read. Since you have taken it apart, do you think it will be easy to replace the trim pieces or are the layouts of the center console differ from those with wood trim from that of the standard plastic trim .

Great news! I got a call from the dallas dealership that they have one on the lot and are holding it for me! It is IS250 without the Lux package. I really didnt really see the need for ventilated seats or the wood trim. I am getting White/Black. Thanks to everyone! I can't wait until tommorow!!
