Anyone get a longer period of maintenance included?

I was thinking of asking for ClearBra, Sirius and possibly longer maintenance like BMW. I am negotiating the price tomorrow evening.

Mine wouldn't give anything. Basically, an "if you want it, here's what it costs" approach. They will, however, pick up and return my car for service. Since it is 40 - 45 min. one way, this will save me a fair amount of time.

I only got what I paid for. Us "early adopters" didn't get much of a break. I'm sure that's changed quite a bit by now.

Cheers,
Kermee

I got the ML sound system at no extra charge.

I also got my windows tinted for free and a box of JM Lexus chocolates.

Sure you did! Post a scanned copy of your bill of sale and then I will believe that!

It may be true. There is a lot of availability in CA - none on the 350s in TX. Some 250s but no 350s....

I got three years of seasonal tire changeovers, including mount and balance, from summer to snow tires and back. It's a perk I figure is worth well over $500, even at the prices my local discount tire store charges.

Just the all season floor mats, Sirius unit, install, and 9 mos. of it. The Sirius is probably a promotion through Penske dealerships but, oh well, it's money I don't have to spend on it.

Wow! That sounds like charity for a car as hot as the IS is right now. Are you sure it was an IS not a Chevy Astro? Do please tell us how you accomplished this feat so that we all can learn from your experience.

No dealer, none will sell you a car for less than or equal to what it costs them. The only way what you say can happen is:

1. The dealer really took you when you did your trade in and he made a ton of money there.
AND/OR
2. You leased or financed through them and they made up more than the difference to MSRP in financing fees, ineterst, acquisition fees etc.

$$$ off MSRP has no meaning without details about the rest of the deal unless you did not have a trade and paid the whole thing in cash, which probably happens in less than 5% of the cases. For most of the buyers it is one of many numbers involved in their transaction. What the dealer gives you off MSRP, he/she makes up from the other parts of the transaction that you are not as conscious of as the MSRP since the MSRP is always the highest number involved.

Going back to the original post, I asked for annual detailing, oil changes and all-season floor mats. They agreed to take off another $500 beyond what we had agreed on so I was happy. They also gave me the mats at cost.
