IS 250 RWD Trac Off button
I'm a little confused about this? I read about the disabling traction control brake foot brake thing, if I click on the trac off button the car with skid light is on.
However I tried to get the car a little sideways in the rain and the car beeped several times and corrected the slide.
How do you overide the car so one would have full control? Does the disabling sequence only work on IS 350's with VDIM?
Thanks.

The "Trac Off" button only works at low speeds. As soon as your speed comes up, the traction control is re-enabled. If you want to disable it entirely, you need to perform the tap dancing routine on the brake and parking brake that is described in other threads.

I tried the brake and parking brake thing and it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone confirm this works on an IS 250?

You start the car with parking brake on and brakes depressed.
Release Brake, Press, Release, Press, HOLD
Release Parking Brake, Press, Release, Press, HOLD (it should hold itself)
Release Brake, Press, Release, Press, HOLD
Repeat it as many times as you need until you see the VSC/VDIM light light up on your dash.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the sequence it worked like a charm.
Apparently the TRAC OFF button only works up until 30mph then it kicks back on. Using the sequence above completely shuts off Traction Control.

Bump of a kinda old thread - but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully disabled TRAC on a RWD 250 Manual Transmission. Much as I've tried, I can't get mine to go off. Anyone have any experience with this?
