I can't wait for winter to hear how your lowered AWD does as it plows through the snow. Or will it?

A few days ago I put on staggered wheels making sure that the OD was nearly the same. I ended up with a .06 difference between the front and rear tires. Here's the setup...
Front 19x8 +40 offset 225/35/19 OD=25.20
Rear 19x9.5 +40 offset 265/30/19 OD=25.26

Today the springs went on. I got the Tanabe DF210 from Ed at Bob Baker Lexus. The springs are for the GS but have the same diameter as the stock IS250 AWD. The springs have not settled yet, but this is how the car is currently sitting...

Front Drivers Side = .75"
Front Pass Side = .75"
Rear Drivers Side = .125"
Rear Pass Side = .25"

Believe it or not, I haven't had any rubbing problems yet. All day I've been trying to test it by hitting rough RR tracks at speed, dips in the road, and even the slight curb off my driveway. So far no sounds or marks on the tires.

The only things that I should have done differently was to get the camber kit and had it installed with the springs. Also, I am a little worried about how much more the rear springs are going to drop once they settle. Maybe I should not have gone so aggressive on the drop?

I hope that this info proves useful to anyone thinking about trying this.

Thanks again Ed, you rock!

ChickenBoy,

You are my inspiration!!! I am going to get these springs if you say you dont have any problems so far and you have a GREAT Setup! I will be following your same staggered setup with my AWD. Let me know if there were special instructions on installing these springs so I will let my guy know what to do. Loving it!

smaller tire and wheel in the front(width wise), with a smaller lip, and larger tires, and larger wheel in the back with a larger lip.(deep dish in the rear, not so deep dish in the front.)

Thanks, There are only a couple of things that I can think of in regards to the install. First, make sure that all the suspension bolts are really tight. The test drive after the install I was getting a "clunk" from the right rear. They torqued the bolts down and the "clunk" was gone. Also the car is currently at Lexus getting an alignment. They are going to straighten the camber on the wheels. So I am a little worried that the rear tires may start to rub since they won't be angled in at the top. I'll let you know on Monday if that becomes a problem. If so, you may want to get a wheel offset that will tuck the tire a bit more to the inside of the wheel well. And finally, my springs have not settled so I am worried about any further drop. So the NF210 may be the way to go. BTW does anyone know how long it take springs to settle? And how much more of a drop I can expect?

Good Luck with your setup and I'll keep you informed of any problems or areas of concern. Here's another pic...

I hear ya on the rear end situation. Everyday it seems to be getting closer and closer to the rear tires. Trust me, it looks great, but I am scared to put someone in the back seat because of how close it it. Im rollin on 20's though. I have had my springs in for over a month, and they seem to be settling still. Let me know what you find out. Serious case of the rubs will remain, I guess.

I am doing the nf210 this weekend. this should make the AWD look better than stock.

I wonder why the drop spec for the front are small than the rear???

I did NF210s last weekend. the drop spec is supposed to be 1.3" in front and 0.9" in rear. of course, these are averages. the .9" or almost inch drop in rear changes the way the car looks completely. where did you get your drop specs from? post pics when you are done lexsara.
