I did a heck of a lot of research before I decided to do this to my AWD and with the help of Ed at Bob Baker Lexus and Chris at Woodfield Lexus I was able to do this without severely damaging my IS. Thanks guys!
A few days ago I put on staggered wheels making sure that the OD was nearly the same. I ended up with a .06 difference between the front and rear tires. Here's the setup...
Front 19x8 +40 offset 225/35/19 OD=25.20
Rear 19x9.5 +40 offset 265/30/19 OD=25.26
Today the springs went on. I got the Tanabe DF210 from Ed at Bob Baker Lexus. The springs are for the GS but have the same diameter as the stock IS250 AWD. The springs have not settled yet, but this is how the car is currently sitting...
Front Drivers Side = .75"
Front Pass Side = .75"
Rear Drivers Side = .125"
Rear Pass Side = .25"
Believe it or not, I haven't had any rubbing problems yet. All day I've been trying to test it by hitting rough RR tracks at speed, dips in the road, and even the slight curb off my driveway. So far no sounds or marks on the tires.
The only things that I should have done differently was to get the camber kit and had it installed with the springs. Also, I am a little worried about how much more the rear springs are going to drop once they settle. Maybe I should not have gone so aggressive on the drop?
I hope that this info proves useful to anyone thinking about trying this.
Thanks again Ed, you rock!

Thanks! If I do I'll post it ASAP so other won't have the same problem. But so far I've put 200 miles on the wheels and haven't noticed any change in how the trans or diff are performing. Also, today I had my 5000 mile check up and the only problem they found was a small crack in the radiator (replaced tomorrow) but the trans and diff check out OK.

I did it for vehicle appearance. I like the staggered look. But I've noticed that I launch a little quicker (maybe it just me?) and the handling seems a bit more responsive.
