What to do? Cancel order?
After waiting 3.5 months, my dealer calls me today and told me that it will be mid-July before my car arrives. I was expecting it to arrive in the next couple of weeks! Mid-July is 6 months after my order date, and they have been sitting on my $1500 deposit since then. I am seriously considering pulling my order and not getting the car.

Somehow they messed up. It doesn't take that long to order a car from Japan. Only you can say if you want THAT car enough to wait. Whatever your agreed financial deal was, they should better it by at LEAST $500 to keep you as a customer. Your'e getting close to "07 territory on a number of cars. Happy hunting.

I think I am going to call them on this and explain that I am well aware of their process and they should have known about this 3 months ago. I am not sure if I should do this by phone or in person, but I am getting more and more upset about it.

Yeah, they probably never ordered it. About 3 months ago, I special ordered a car with Lexus of Seattle. It turns out that they lied to me and they were just hoping the car would pop up through allocation.
I went into the dealership and gave them quite the earful and reported the dealership to corporate. You should do the same, cancel your order, and get it from elsewhere.

I wanted it for the summer driving season too. Maybe theyll give me a loaner for 3 months. LOL.
I just talked to the manager and he said he would talk to the order guy and get back to me. They told me they werent making Desert Sage but that there was one in Colorado. If they weren't making them then how would one end up in CO.

I agree with this. The manager also told me this has happened with 2 other cars ordered near when my car was ordered - mid-January-ish. He said all three orders have been pushed back.

Thanks. Thing is, even with a loaner, I am not sure if I want an 06 car in mid-July, so close to the 07s coming out. I mean, if they decide to have a manual IS350 I could be tempted by that. Or maybe they will bump up output on the 250. I'd hate to have my car for 2 months and find out they made some significant change.
I will ask about the loaner regardless of what I decide to do. It may help me make a decision, but it may not.
