Default New IS 250 AWD

HI everyone,

About 2 months ago I had placed money down for a IS250 rwd in SGM and was told by the dealer it would be in in April. I went in last night to follow up and they had no idea when they could locate one. I then got a price for the 250awd for $2500 off MSRP. The original rwd price was only $2200 off, so I did a little better. Here in WI, the awd's are everywhere but no rwd to be seen. Anyway, its the prem. pckg in red. I figured the resale value and not having to buy winter tires would pay for itself in the long run versus the rwd version. After we started some paperwork he mentioned the red one on the lot I wanted had about $1200 in add-ons such as the teflon environmental package, scotch gard, and the clear 3m bra on the front. I told them forget it then, I would not pay for all of that. He said he would only charge me $600 for all of them and throw in a spolier---per my request. Is this still a good deal or what? Then later on the next day (today) they called and now claim they cant seem to get the rear lip spoiler from Lexus? I said it must be included or forget it. Was this just a bunch of BS to try and avoid getting me the spoiler that only costs them about $150?

Anyone have experience with the Lexus rear spoiler and its availability or are they just stalling?

On a side note, the more I looked at the red IS in the showroom the more it impressed me with the metallic sparkle of it.

Thanks,
Brandon

I just had one installed on my IS350 today before i picked it up. Spolier was ordered Monday and arrived Wednesday painted and ready to go. I would have to say the guy is full of it. BTW the spoiler should only cost the dealer $275 and they are charging $700 i believe for the spoiler. So if he throws in the spoiler it sounds like an ok deal. I got $4000 off on my car but i don't think you will be able to get that on an AWD car.

The clear bra alone would of cost you around 500+ dollars. Teflon enviormental package is like a really good wax job I think? Either way they are still making money with all of that at 600. I say demand the spoiler. If they can't get it now, get them to put it in writing that you will get it when it is supposedly available. Don't let the dealer jerk you around after you've waited 2 months!

It's a joke from the Simpsons. Just an extreme example of those ripoff add-ons (Teflon enviormental package?!? = Armor All).
