Default Remote Start

So when is Lexus gonna come out with a Remote Start for the 2IS? I know my salesman was going to include it, until he found out that all the remote starts put in to the 2IS before was a failure, he said it was due to the push button start or something like that. So basically, does anyone know when it would actually be offered again?

There is already a factory remote starter for IS but it is sold in Japan.

The lack of a standard remote start and factory satellite radio or two of my biggest disappointments with the IS. How can a car made in 2006 for $45k not have these items standard, or at the very least a factory option?

$20k Pontiacs have these options but our cars don't?

See, technically It does have it. Just not for the United States.

I think we'll see it in '07 as a option. Since Toyota just started to bring this feature to the US via Camry & Avalon.

yes, not very hard to install.

I think the main reason why there is no remote start in US yeah, is because people in US like to bring their lawyer to the court for any mistake a car maker makes.

It is just more reliability for a car maker with remote start, unless they can make sure it is full prove, they will not have it.

I see the price is still pending, but anyone have an estimate of how much this will cost. Also what are the benefits and disadvantages to a remote start?

I believe the price was in the range of $800, according to Carson Toyota. They still have yet to verify if it'll work on US cars. Most likely it will. They just haven't gotten around to installing it yet on their 3GS.

Hopefully soon.

It's $850 not including installation (according to Carson).

well, my father has a LX470 with a remote start, and ive used it for a few weeks.

the biggest benefit i think is that if you live in a cold area during the winter, like i do, it heats the interior of ur car, so you do not freeze when u sit down

and i can not really think of any disadvantages, nothing at all
