Pics of IS350 in the CLOUDS – 56k’ers BEWARE

I took my IS350 on one of the most famous roads in America Saturday, the Angeles Crest Freeway just north of Los Angeles. For those of you that have never been, it’s AWESOME. Some of the funnest curves you’ll ever encounter on any road, and you get absolutely BREATHTAKING views from the stopping areas. The road starts out at about 1,500 ft above sea level and winds up over 9,000 ft in elevation. I didn’t have time to make it all the way through, but here are a couple of pics from the beginning of the road – I’m planning on going back soon when it’s clear and taking more pictures from higher up. I hope everyone enjoys them! Oh, and for anywone wondering, that's not fog in those pictures - they're CLOUDS!

Javier

EDIT: I've moved pictures I posted later in this thread to the beginning with the originals...

Cool

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing how the color changed. I thought the car was Tungsten Pearl like mine until I saw you have GFM. GFM is so cool how it changes color with the different weather conditions.

Neat pics. How did you get so high up for some of those shots? Were you standing on a rock/boulder/railing or something?

Also, I really hope there arent people here that still use dial-up. Usually when I post a lot of pics I write the same thing but I think enough time has passed where everyone should have broadband. And if you can afford a lex you can afford high speed internet (if not, your priorities are a little messed up )

That's exactly why I wanted GFM - it's almost like having 3 different color cars, but it's not GAWDY...lol

I never really noticed until now - it DOES look like I was a lot higher up than I was... The ones that look high I simply took standing up - the rest I took crouching down. And no, I'm not 7 feet tall Only 6 feet!

Great pictures, thanks.

How doe the car pull at that elevation?

My only thing is that you seem to have pinstriping on your car (please, please tell me I am wrong).

Sorry to say but it looks like pinstripping... Great car anyways... I'd like to try the paddle shifting..

Glacier Frost Mica FTW!

I really need to get to that road one of these days. I've heard about it so much but never found my way up there. Looks like you had fun

Yeah, it is pinstriping... The dealer put it on before I picked it up and tried to charge me for it, after I specifically told them NOT to. So they gave it to me for free, but it's really grown on me since. I like it now!

My friends and I ride our motorcycles around that area, but we've never crossed one of those before! I usually end up finding a rattlesnake or something instead...
