Mobile phone wind noise
Well it's getting hot here in Florida and my wife called on the way home the other day. When I answered she said that she couldn't hear me, lot's of noise. We called back a time a two and then I figured it out..... my center air vents were pointed up and to the center of the car. The fan had cycled to high speed and guess what.......... it blows directly on the microphone in the overhead console. I redirected te air flow and she heard me fine. Weird!!! I thought that it was the blueooth at first. Nope, just a blow job on the microphone. Hope this saves you some time when it happens to you.

I use the bluetooth with all the windows down and the sunroof open, and no one ever complains about noise. I think the mic is great. People on the phone can even hear the passengers in the back seat talking.

Windows down and sun roof open don't seem to affect the microphone. The a/c pointed at it does. I was suprised that with all of the great engineering in this car, that they missed this one. It would have been easy to make sure that it couldn't happen. Now that I know what it is, it's not a big deal. But I have to think about where the left center a/c vent is pointed if I get a call. Granted it has to be on high, but here where I live it's on high the first 10 minutes every time I get in the car.

Good tip on the air vents! I will have to try redirecting mine and see if it solves the similar problem my girlfriend has reported. After the first few weeks of having my IS and having her tell me that she could hear me fine on the phone, she started complaining that sometimes there is a background noise that makes it hard to hear. The problem apparently comes and goes, and, now that I think of it, first showed up about the time the weather started warming up here.

Least now we know how to get someone off the phone during a call.

Usually when people complain about me making too much wind noise it's followed moments later by a far bigger complaint about the awful smell.
At least this time they get to hear my wind without running gasping for fresh air!
