I have been reading all the Treo forums and this forum with little hope I would get my Treo to work with my IS350. It did not work with my wife's 2005 GX470 either.
Well, I bumped into a firmware update for my Treo 650 (Cingular). Please be very careful that you only use the correct updater for your specific Treo. I found mine here:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl.../cingular.html
One of the items fixed in the list is:
- Optimizes Bluetooth performance for some Motorola headsets and other car kits.
It also had this from an earlier update I already had installed on my Treo:
- Carkit Update for Treo 650 (Bluetooth carkit drivers).
Anyway, after installing the update, I went out to my car, started the car, and my Treo asked for the pairing password! I typed it in and they connected immediately! I was able to make and recieve calls through the car with no problem. I'm hoping that it continues to work this way - it was fine for an hour on the way home.
One warning; make sure to read this page here:
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/W...ase=obj(25000)
This lists certain applications that cause trouble with the firmware updater. I had Butler installed and running, and when it got halfway through the update, the Treo was locked in an infinite reboot, and reboot, etc. until I did a hard system reset and erased all data on the Treo. Not to worry because I had already done a backup before the whole process. So after restoring all my data and getting back to the way it was in the beginning, I disabled Butler, and ran the updater a second time successfully.

I've had no problem since pairing up my Treo 650 w/my IS350. Of course I can't download my contact list (or don't know how to), but for phone functionality, everytime I fire up the car, the NAV screen displays 'Bluetooth Connection Succcessful", and I send and receive calls just fine.

Got my Sprint Treo 650 working via bluetooth right away. But, I too had trouble with downloading contacts until I found this on the Treo Central site:
http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=100266
Even though the instructions are for an RX-330, the procedure works just fine for my IS350.
One note: The Treo Central page states you can only have one phone number per contact, however, my car allows two per contact. If a contact has three numbers, it creates a new entry for the person. So, if you have a person with three phone numbers, there will be two names listed in the Lexus phone book — one with two numbers and one with one number.
Good luck!

Mine worked right away...though it is slower to sync up than my blackberry 7520. Also, for some reason I cannot see the number that is calling me, whereas with the blackberry I can. The Treo takes longer to ring as well, it takes a couple of rings for the rings to be heard via the speaker. The Blackberry rings right away.
I wish both units could sync up at the same time, it is only one at a time. I have to choose wich one to sync up, kinda sucks.

That's good, great find
A TON of people need this from what I've read. Maybe post this in the GS forum as well because I know there are a lot of Treo users in that forum that have problems with it as well.
