Default stiff Suspension ride on the IS350 sport

I just purchased my new 350sport and am very disappointed in the ride for a $40,000+ car. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I also have my IS300 which is lowered and rides on 19" wheels w/35series tires and it rides better than the 350 does.

I have a 250 and this is one and only complaint i have. The rides is jittery on some road it almost feels like the car is Nervous at times.
I'll switch to bilstein Shocks when it becomes available and then lower it.

My W202 Slammed and the ride was smoother, But i Love my IS250

I love the ride of my 350 Sport. I tried both Lux & Sport and the Sport had a little less body roll and didn't bounce around as much as the Lux. Both were good, but for me the Sport advantages were greater then the negative of a stiffer ride on lousy roads. Twisties in the Cascade mountain pass ..... ahh I can't wait !

Disappointed, why? Too soft, too firm? Please be specific. Ride is a VERY subject quality. I have the the sport, and I find the ride very reassuring.

I bought the '06 IS without a test drive. I knew what I wanted and just ordered it. I was pretty certain it was going to be better than my '02 IS

How a car ride has nothing to do with it's price tag, it is all about what the designer think it's target customer want in their car to ride and handle.

Go try a $120k Porsche 911 GT3, it's stock suspension is 10X stiffer then your 350 sport.

Sounds like you bought the wrong car, I am sorry. Like other people say, test drive the car first before you buy next time.

Im coming from an 02 bmw 330cic w/sports package, and the ride in my IS350
seems to be a bit smoother. Although I think the Bmw had less body roll..

If you want a well cushioned ride, then don't get the sport.

You paid for a IS350 Sports Sedan with the optional Sports Package with a stiffer spring rate & shocks.

There really isn't a point for me to post, but I guess I just wanted to add to the flame.

I actually experienced the same 'probl*** on my test drives, and found the sport suspension to be inadequate for what I was looking for...so I went with the stock (softer) suspension. How you feel about the "ride" isn't very specific though, so what don't you like about it exactly? If you didn't do so, it would have made sense to test drive the car over numerous surfaces before buying.

I totally agree. IS350 Sport's stiffness is nowhere close BMW sport package. However, I still enjoy the smoothness of the Lexus even though I can use a little more stiffness.

You want to experience a stiff ride then jump in my old Sti.

The better the car handles the more stiff it usually is. The 18" sport rims and ZR tires are the first step. Replace them with some floaters and I get it gets a lot smoother.

The IS350 handles exceptionally well. I've seen BWM come up a few times in this thread but I’m comparing it to my old S2000's and Sti. I can man handle a great corner just as well and such as fast. Is the IS350 as "tossible".. no its not but the thing handles like a champ.. and the S2000 and Sti are champs.

Maybe you could find someone with a Lux who wishes they'd bought the sport and switch springs / shocks...
