MP3 CD Issues
Hi guys,
I made an MP3 CD divided into 3 folders.. Most of them will play in my car but there are still 20 or so songs that isn't even seen by my IS350's CD player. However, when I look at the contents of the CD on my PC, all the mp3s are there and they all work on my PC.
Has this happened to any of you? I don't get how some songs don't even show up on my Lexus (i.e. if there were 30 songs in each folder, each folder has about 3-10 songs missing).
Also, the CD is only 3/4 full.
Thanks.

Not really sure why it won't recognize it, but I have an MP3 CD in my car with over 100 songs on it and it seems to be able to read all of them. None of mine however are in folders. Maybe it's the way the folders were set up that the system doesn't recognize???

i'm having these issues as well.
most of the time the dics reads "check", sometimes it takes forever to finally read a song, and if you move forwarda track, it dies again and shows "check". However, once it starts playing it works fine as long as you don't touch anything.
Could it be the quality of the CD-R? oh and this is w/ the Nav/ML system.

I think the problem you have is from the Folders, remove it and just put the mp3 files straight in the CD. unless you have the Navi maybe it would work.

MP3's No Nav CD Player
I set up a couple of cd's with over 100 songs each.
1 cd has 161 songs, 1 cd has 140. Didn't check the others.
1 cd has many folders with each folder named after the artist.
1 cd has no folders.
1 cd has 4 folders.
All the cd's play great.
When pressing the TEXT button on the player console it shows the cd number, folder name, artist, song title and more, in sequential order by pressing the text button.
When I first tried the mp3 function I put all the files on the cd with no folders so I could use the RANDOM feature of the player. I soon found out that by holding the RANDOM button (1) down for a few seconds it would play random songs through out the cd, no matter how many folders I have. Nice.

they probably are .wma format instead of mp3 format.. Even though it has a .mp3 extension.. try renaming it as ____.wma and then use a convertor to convert it into .mp3 and try burning it again.

I have my changer filled with mp3 cds. None of them have folders, and everything is seamless.
I dont see the point of adding folders to your discs. Just edit the file format so that the songs are in the numerical order that you want and then burn them.
I.E.
0001 - song name1.mp3
0002 - song name2.mp3
Thats how I do it, and all of my albums are in order, and everything reads without a hitch.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've had absolutely no problem playing these disks.
