Should I order a '06 IS350 or wait one month and order an '07 ?

I special ordered a GX470 and got $500 over invoice a few months ago.

Granted, the GX isn't as "hot" as the IS, but you shouldn't pay more simply for ordering. I may even order an IS 350 as a "fun" car in another 2 yrs or so. Need to get the GX paid off and let demand slacken after the "gotta have it NOW and/or FIRST crowd is done. In about 2 yrs gettiing outrageous MSRP by a "stealer" will be a thing of the past.

Nope, most custom orders are full MSRP (personal experience and most others on this forum) - dealer has no incentive to give you a good deal. I'm not sure if they get holdbacks, etc. on custom orders like they do on their allocations. The ones on the lot are the ones the dealer has money tied up in, and if they don't sell them, they eat it on the interest etc. Also, they get holdback, advertising cost, etc. so they can cut you a better deal off MSRP.

Yeah but at this point I'll probably get the "stripper" cars that are left on the lot, or at least not the color I want. My only choice might be to order. I am sure some of you guys have gotten money when ordering.
