Default Question about control buttons on 2IS

Hello everyone! I've been lurking around this IS forum for a while and finally decided to register. I love reading about everyone's new 2is. I was hoping you guys (and girls) could answer a question I've got. Can anyone figure out what all those blank buttons are for near the bottom left of the image are? It would really bug me to buy a new luxury car and have those covers. I know one is for the rear sunshade, and the one shown is for the headlight washer but what about the rest? Thanks for you help!

Welcome to CL!

In other Lexus markets all over the world, there are other miscellaneous options that are not available here in North America. Rear foglight switch is one of them that sits with the power sunshade and headlight washer.

I think in Europe, they have power folding side mirrors. Could that be one of the missing buttons? The side mirrors are suppose to fold inwards to help park in tight spaces.

Flipside, I was looking at that thread and saw those faux buttons and was wondering what they could have been. Anyone else have any guesses? Does anyone have all the buttons filled in?

It's normal to see the blank buttons on the dash with any Toyota or Lexus. They are auxilliary spaces for misc features. There is no market in the world that has every single blank button used up. They are just there for misc features in different markets.

Also to add...if you see my signature below...at the Exclusive CL Reviews...click on the 2006 IS link and read about it. I have a full gallery of photos in there as well.

This is what you will find in a typical US Spec IS250/350 with Luxury Package w/Headlamp washers & power sunshade:

Thanks flipside! I'll browse through those. It's still sad to buy such an expensive car (for me anyway) and have those buttons There so big and obvious!

Its too bad that we cant mount the trunk and fuel release buttons on the top. I would suggest waiting till these cars hit the junkyards, and buying the buttons out of them... and just leave them in as non functional buttons.

The last button is for the rear-fogs that are required in Europe I think.
