Default oil change 7 quarts??

i recently just did my oil change and the is250 ended up taking 7 quarts of oil, i just did a search and saw that some people who did there oil change themselves used only 6 quarts........has anybody else experienced this yet?? and also i saw on another thread that people are buying their oil filters for only like 8 bucks, i went to the westminster dealership and they charged me 15 bucks, does anybody think thats way too much for the filter on this car???

"ended up taking"?? Please don't tell me you just kept pouring oil in until you saw the level rise up to the filler neck. Every car's owner manual says exactly how much oil the car needs...no more or less. If the manual calls for six quarts and you put seven in, you need to drain a quart out.

Does anyone read the fluids page of the manual anymore?

If he'd filled engine up to the filler neck, it'd take a damn site more than 7 quarts.

6.7qts is the spec with oil/filter change. Make sure you have the car on a level surface, you've run the car to prime the oil filter, and then check the level after letting the oil settle for 10 minutes or so.

The IS250 RWD take 6.6 qt with oil filter and 6.2 qt without oil filter.
This is considering a complete drain fo the system.
It would likely be less.

How did you drain the oil? I Asked because with my mercedes before. If i drain it from the Plug i would have to put in 6.5 quarts but when i started using my Oil Extractor i would have to put in 7.5 quarts of oil just to get on the right level on the Dip Stick.

We do not Void our Warranty if we do our oil Change???

I bet it uses the same oil pan as the 350. Since you have a large oil pan vs the engine size I bet you can have a longer change interval than the 350
