Default another port/dealer installed XM question

I found out the kits dealers are using are Delphi; can anyone that had XM pre-installed confirm it *is* an integrated kit? No FM modulator crap...is it line-level input with all the data showing up on the factory radio?

Does anyone know if you can get an aftermarket unit or something that can be controlled by the factory radio/steering wheel... and will show the satellite radio info on the Nav screen??

I called my Lexus dealer and they told me it's gonna cost $1300 for install and 6 months of service included.

Although my IS is non-nav. my port installed XM is fully integrated. No difference in controlls etc. from the FM. Cost per sticker for port install - $487. The price you were quoted seems ridiculous to me. I'd go to another dealer.

I'm just gonna order the kit from one of the sponsors of this site ($270 + shipping) and install it myself. If it's anything like the one on my G, it'll take 45 minutes to git 'er done.

Thats really the best way to go IMO. Most of this stuff comes with pretty detailed install instructions and can be done pretty easily (I installed my own rear spoiler in about 3 hours)...

can you get me that link to the sponsor that has that for $270 + shipping?

I'm looking to do the same thing, ....just called the local dealer, they wanted $438 for the kit, then another $115 an hour to install it (at 3 hours). Yikes!

Heh sorry, I mention that because I posted an earlier thread about the first dealer who wanted $940 for XM...when I started shopping around it was pretty clear they were gouging. The 2nd dealer I called told me it was in the $400-range for port install (like others have confirmed here) but he wanted to sell the car that had arrived that morning with the specs I was looking for, so he said if I wanted that car he'd throw it in free.
