SGM is Pearl Black. When I ordered the touch up paint (Color-code 1G0 - you can find it on the side of your door, after you open the door) for my car, the invoice and the label on the touchup paint states "Pearl Black". There was no mention of SGM. It must be just a marketing thing calling it SGM. Personally, I love this color since I like the way it shines better than Black, due to the metallic paint of course.
For those of you in the Bay Area with SGM, you may want to special order the touchup paint early before you actually need it. After asking about 5 dealerships (Toyota/Lexus), I had to special ordered it and it took almost 2 weeks.

From what I've been told is Production starts June 15th for 07 and I also have confirmed the x package along with the new black. I do know the factory in Japan is no longer accepting 06 orders, as they are booked until the 07 production, yet they are not accepting 07 orders until next week, when I will be placing mine. As to when the 07s will be available to the public, you need to figure in shipping time as well as a month or two or getting enough shipments to store to release. They usually take the first shipments and store them in a yard until enough are available to launch nationwide, but if you are not getting it through a dealer(IE. you are an employee) you'd get it whenever your car arrives at the port.
I wish someone else knew what exactly this new black is, because I'm not sure if I want it or just the Black Onyx.

I hope that helps you in finding out what the color looks like exactly. Bmw has a Black Sapphire color on their new 3 series.

Thanks for the code, I called someone to see if they can help me, its just a little hard to get perspective from websites, seeing as how there is no other black to compare it to, nor are there any of these color lexus' in the back lot where I could see and get an idea of what it looks like.

1: the color is very tacky like something on a riced out honda.
2: uh, the lexus 5 spoke wheels are the 'twin' spoke youre trying to refer to.
