6 speed manual IS rare? What's the breakdown here?

this is a bunk poll, if you put is250 AWD in the title of the post, you will get more votes for the AWD (beacuse it catches AWD owner's attention)
as for the NOS; our compression is so high (12:1), forcing more compression on this vehicle could have some nasty side effects without extensive modifications the engine before you raise the compression.
this is also the same reason why nobody has come out with a turbo/supercharger.

I was going to agree with you about the Turbo/supercharger, but I thought I remember seeing someone post that Tom's had a supercharger kit that was going for 10k?
Also there seems to be an IS 350 out there with an LMS Pro Street Supercharger.
clicky
ENGINE MODS
- LMS Pro-street supercharger
- LMS custom supercharger bracket (black powercoated)
- ATI C2 Procharger supercharger
- LMS custom supercharger pipes (black powercoated)
- LMS custom intercooler
- Turbo Hoses couplers (black)
- K&N air filter
- LMS true dual catback exhaust system
- Cusco oil catch can
- HKS Super Sequential Blow-Off Valve
- Tech Pro grounding kit
- Sun Auto Hyper Voltage System
Not sure of the validity of it though. /shrugs

yeah after writing that, i looked into it myself. the supercharger only adds like 40 whp. the charger is 5k alone, not to mention installation.
nitrous could work, but only if used in moderation (or extensive mods)

I can't recall seeing any G35 or BMW 330i sedan 6 speeds......now on the 330ci or G35 coupes, yes (of course M3's are only manual or semi-manual -SMG crap-)

Id have to disagree only because the IS is not available in a coupe. I went with the manual transmission in the IS because IMO its got more style then the competition. If i could have purchased a 350 manual for around 36k (premium package, no nav, 17" wheels) I most def would have. I would rather have the IS sedan over a g35 coupe anyday... AND the STI/Lancer are sedans...

I agree. This poll is not going to be accurate, especially in the NY area, where I bet you have many many more AWD's than this poll shows. I think given that members here are more likely to be "enthusiasts" and there is a heavy CA concentration, this will not reflect Lexus production ##s.

i couldnt drive a non-stick car, i'd get waaaaaay too bored. the only problem with the manuals they have at the dealorship are that they come with the bare minimum. mainly because lexus thinks if your buying a stick you want the bottom of the barrel. so unfortunately if you want a good one thats also a stick, you'll need to special order. i did back in april and i pick mine up tomorrow!

I have an '07 Glacier Frost White 250 Manual with X-Package/Navi/ML/Prem Pkg/HID/Lexus HKS w/Rear Lip/35% Tint/3M Clear Bra
This was the only way that I could get the Sports suspension.

When we looked at a used 2006 IS250 with 11,000 miles on it, they wouldn't come down in price. The commented on how rare it was. I looked all over Florida for another, used or new, and couldn't find any. We ended up ordering a 2007...but after 3 months they just told us that we would be getting a 2008. The price we paid was only a little over the used one's price. They said they had too much money in it. One note, a nearby dealership said that they wouldn't deal on a special order 6MT because they were so rare. They called me and left messages a few times because they had just got a couple in. I called them back and told them that I had bought elsewhere because they had refused to deal...and they told me that they would deal on these. I guess sometimes they're rare, sometimes they're not.

A local dealership told me they would want a $10,000 non-refundable deposit to special order an IS250 6MT, and the price would be MSRP. So I bought mine right off the lot of a dealer just a few miles away, and they were more than willing to negotiate.
