Default 6 speed manual IS rare? What's the breakdown here?

Doesn't seem to be a lot of 6 speed manual IS250's.
Was wondering how the percentages would look.

Not that we need yet another poll. But wouldn't it be easier and MORE accurate to just to get the breakdown off of the dealer allocation sheets?

its not rare...its less convenient because you lose options...think luxary then think auto =P i too wanted a manual transmission but there wasnt as much options with the manual compared to the auto so it made my decision easier lol.

Hey... you're missing us... "poor" diesel europeans obliged to opt for the manual one! ;-)

Default manual with luxury pkg

I was just by m local dealing checking out there stock. They have a Breakwater Blue/Cashmere manual tranny with luxury package, nav, mark levinson and 18" alloys in stock. It's at 39k on the sticker. Yow! Looks nice although Breakwater isn't my fav color.

It is just how it works for manual transmission cars. For the record, statistics have shown that only 10 percent of the potential customers in the market consider buying a stick shift car an option. 90% of the people want an automatic car. Stick shift cars might be extinct over the next 10 - 15 years.

I think the manual will be ALOT more popular if it's available on the IS350. Too bad, unlucky for us here in Asia we don't even get manuals for 250's.

Wow IS250 AWD ties for LAST with I dont own an IS?????

Ive been on CL almost 2 months and I didnt realize that many people did opt for the IS350 over 250...

And I agree with manuals possibly being extinct soon 05Rolla.... I know many people that not only dont want to drive a manual...but dont know how.

I am really surprised....AWD was the ONLY way I could buy this car...

There are a lot more 250 manuals than I thought. I know that if I was going to get a 250, I'd get the manual.

Judging from the 2ISs I've seen on the road and in parking lots in Monmouth County NJ, I'd say the IS250 AWD is the most popular model in our locale.

I don't think that participants in this forum are a representative sample of buyers; I'm guessing that folks that are "in to their cars" enough to post here are more into performance than the average Lexus buyer.

I like the auto and would have stayed with it even if a 6spd was offered in the 350. I've been driving manuals for so long, I fiogured with a lux/sport sedan, this auto was perfect. And it shifts firm, holds rpms, etc...
