Default nav override not working

I used the same steps for accessing the service menu in this post

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...6&page=1&pp=15

and I press and hold "override" until it beeps...however it basically disables the buttons on the right side of the screen (menu, dest, nav). I have to go back into the service screen and undo the override to get those buttons working and the ability to even see the navigation. Am I doing something wrong?

when you get to the menu screen, you hold down override for maybe 5 seconds, then while holding it down, press the DEST button. the override button should turn blue.

I'll try it later, thanks...do I wait for the override button to beep before pressing DEST?

I'm not sure what hogchow is talking about; I do this all the time.

Hold the "override" button until it beeps and changes color. Then press the "back" button (looks like an arrow pointing left) at the top of the touchscreen. That will get you out of the service mode screen and back to the normal one. Once you are back, all the buttons will work again.

Bichon is correct. No need to press the dest button...

OK, thanks all...I'll try it when I get the car back Monday (tint + dealer installing rear spoiler). When none of the buttons on the right side worked I was freaking out a bit.

Were the buttons not working while you were still in the override screen or when you got back to the main map page?

If you don't hit the Back button, then the buttons stop working. It happened to me once too. Just make sure you press Back while at the service screen.

Once I got the override button to beep I believe I pressed Audio and then tried to press Nav and DEST to try the address entry function while moving.

But was the display still showing the hidden menu?

No. I think pressing Audio from the hidden menu will take you out of the hidden menu, but the Nav/Dest/Menu buttons were disabled.

Hmmm, Because I know that when your in the hidden manu, the buttons on the right won't work. So let's revert back to what Bichon said, go into the menu, do the overide and hit the back button and hopefully it will work.
