I had the same problem, brought the car in and the dealer could not reproduce noise. After I got the car back the noise was gone, so whatever they did worked, even though they said they couldn't find the problem.

I wish guys would stop presenting TSIB unless they knew it would indeed rectify the problem. The seat base squeak is a very generalized TSIB that applies to lots of models concerning removal of locator pins that are noisey against the body of the car. There aren't any locators on the IS so that TSIB doesn't apply.

I've generally taken loose the seat and applied silicone paste to the body where the seat mounts to and reinstalled the seat. That has taken care of all the IS seat squeaks I've encountered.
It's rediculous how we spend so much money on a "luxury" car, but one must go to the extent of removing and reinstalling a damn seat just to get rid of a squeek!

I just heard the squeek from my passenger seat last week, bringing it in tomorrow. The dealer did know that there was a tsib on the issue.

I could be mistaken, but I thought the IS WAS listed on the TSIB. Since you've taken the seat apart, can you tell me whether it can be tightened? When I push my body back into the seat, using my legs, there is a bit of a rock in the base of the seat. It doesn't squeak, but just feels a bit more lose than the passenger seat. Thoughts?

I had my locator pins dremeled off by Lexus of Tampa Bay. So they do exist on our models.
