hehe, this is going to be funny when you guys and girls seeing those airplanes get own3d.
Edit: so i went to my nav and zoomed out on kansas and a bunch of these planes showed up. i checked them all, they were airports or runways. then i zipped over to socal and checked out that area....a tons of them. i started checking and after about a dozen each and every one of them was a runway. then i remember how silly this is cause not only does one not know all the airports and runways in your region but also when you fly over the state, that's about all you see every five minutes: runways lol.
if you planes are doubling up, your nav might have a problem replicating so many at once so close together or else a military installation and civil locations all in one spot might be heaped together as multiple poi's...zoom in on some of those, see what they really are.

there are many aiports by any house that you might not know, i lived in my house for 8 years before i new there were like 10 small and/or private/semi-private airports just tucked away in the trees or fields...

Yea I think they are actually airport POI icons after all because I noticed the planes were still in the same spot after about an hour of not being in my car. But weird thing is that I can't click on them to get info like I can on other POI icons. Plus, I figured if they were actually airplanes, why did I not see a ton where I live because I live near Orange County airport and there's always tons of planes coming in/taking off.
Regardless, it WOULD be pretty cool if they were actual planes!

Airplanes
Have you noticed the planes following lines in the sky marked like "V234" or "J67".
Now if we could get the system to list all the frequencies for each airport.
